“Prabodh”

Prashant Narang

Prabodh is starting its project with on regulations governing autowallas in Delhi. We have been trying work with the idea of deregulating the autorickshaw industry, allowing free entry and competition. The preliminary discussions have had a great response from auto rickshaw wallas! They have even suggested arranging a large gathering in Delhi where Prabodh can talk to representatives from among auto drivers to decide what to do next. We told them that there shouldn't be any metres! I can't believe the response we got! They were surprised that a commuter is talking about not having metres!

On 17th november, 2006, Shouri Anand on behalf of Prabodh in association with Centre for Civil Society and Political Science department of Maharja Agrasen college organised a documentary screening session followed by a discussion on Liberty and Public policy. For the first time in history of their college the staff and students witnessed and participated in a comprehensive session on public policy. Nidhi from Centre for Civil Society was present at the occasion to facilitate the screening and the discussion. It was quite challenging to do this kind of session in such leftist environment and both deserve appreciation for it.
