Amit Kaushik

Amit Kaushik

Amit Kaushik was a civil servant for 20 years, joining the Indian Railway Accounts Service in 1987. During his time in the service, he held a variety of challenging assignments, including as Director in the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, where he was associated with the implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), as well as the drafting of the Right to Education Act.

He has consulted widely, with multilateral agencies like UNESCO and UNICEF, and has extensive experience of educational planning in India and other developing countries.

Since leaving government, he has worked with organisations like SRF, the NGO Pratham, and Educomp Schools. He is currently Practice Head, Education & Skills Development with IPE Global, a consulting firm that works in the development sector.

Geeta Gandhi Kingdon

Geeta Gandhi Kingdon
Geeta Gandhi Kingdon is Professor at the Institute of Education, University College London, where she holds the Chair of Education Economics and International Development.  Prior to this, she was Research Fellow for 11 years at the Department of Economics, University of Oxford.  Her research on Economics of Education is based mostly on statistical analysis of education datasets.  Based on this research, she advises governments and donor agencies.  In India, she has been a member of the MHRD’s ‘Joint Review Missions’ of public education programmes Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, and is a member of the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board. Professor Kingdon is also President of the board of City Montessori School Lucknow, which has 52,000 students. She divides her time between the UK and India.

Madhav is Co-founder and CEO-President of Pratham, which has several mass-scale innovations in the area of assessment (such as the Annual Status of Education Report), and the Read India movement in the delivery of education for the underprivileged, to its credit.
