Amit Chandra currently heads Advocacy vertical of Centre for Civil Society (CCS). His prior work has been focused on advocacy and research. He has successfully led advocacy campaign called Jeevika: Law, Liberty & Livelihood for recognition of street vending as legitimate occupation in urban space which led to legislation formation in Rajasthan and Bihar. His research initiative in governance led to publication of Delhi Citizen Handbook 2009.

Amit graduated in Commerce and post graduated in Social Work. He has been participant of ‘International Youth Exchange Program’ between India and Canada. He is a Think Tank MBA from Atlas Economic Research Foundation, USA. He also successfully completed a course in ‘Globalization and Market Economy’ from International Academy of Leadership, Germany. He has participated, facilitated and given talks in many regional, national and international conferences and has rich experience in program designing and execution.
