Role Summary

The Field Coordinator will be part of the Jeevika Project Unit under the Policy, Impact & Outreach Department at the Centre for Civil Society (CCS). The position plays a key role in advancing Jeevika—CCS’s flagship initiative that promotes livelihood freedom and legal empowerment for India’s street vendors.

The Coordinator will lead field operations, street vendor engagement and member invitations, and institutional partnerships to strengthen Jeevika’s outreach and legal support ecosystem in Rajasthan. The role involves direct interaction with street vendors, municipal officials, and partner organizations to facilitate access to grievance redressal, digital legal tools, and awareness on livelihood rights.

This position demands strong communication, on-ground leadership, and the ability to translate Jeevika’s objectives into meaningful community impact through structured field activities and data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

A. Field Operations & Vendor Engagement
  • Conduct regular field visits across identified markets to engage with street vendors and local associations.
  • Organize and oversee Jeevika App installation drives and awareness campaigns on vendor rights.
  • Facilitate grievance documentation, vendor surveys, and assist in case follow-up through coordination with the programme team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection, photographic evidence, and documentation of all field activities.
  • To boost Jeevika App installations, targeting 250 new onboardings per week and roughly 1,000 per month
B. Coordination & Partnerships
  • Liaise with municipal authorities, Town Vending Committees, legal aid partners, and community organizations to strengthen vendor representation in Jaipur.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local market leaders, trade unions, and partner NGOs.
  • Facilitate communication and reporting between the Jaipur field team and CCS’s Delhi office.
  • Support in organizing multi-stakeholder meetings, dialogues, and advocacy events.
C. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain detailed field records and vendor data in digital formats.
  • Prepare weekly field reports, case summaries, and impact trackers for review.
  • Track key performance indicators including number of vendors onboarded, grievances recorded, and cases resolved.
  • Document stories of change, challenges, and recommendations to strengthen Jeevika’s state-level implementation strategy.
D. Program Support
  • Assist in training volunteers, interns, and community mobilizers.
  • Contribute to local-level communication collaterals and case studies for internal and external dissemination.
  • Coordinate logistics and outreach materials for awareness events and policy dialogues.
Reporting to
Qualifications & Experience
  • Graduate degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Political Science, or related discipline.
  • 1–2 years of field experience in community engagement, livelihood, or social sector programs (preferred).
  • Familiarity with urban governance systems and community-based organizations.
