JOIN OUR ALLIANCE OF FREEDOM CHAMPIONS!
Centre for Civil Society (CCS) is a public policy think tank advancing personal, social, economic and political freedoms. Our mission is to promote choice, competition and community based policy reforms. Through research, advocacy and outreach, the Centre is reinvigorating civil participation and rightsizing political society.
Our unique selling point (USP) is our deliberate focus on public policy design and measures to bring about social change in key areas of inclusive growth and human development. The Centre's efforts presently are focused on education reforms through the School Choice Campaign, and livelihoods deregulation through Jeevika: Law, Liberty & Livelihoods Campaign.
CCS has built a reputation for rigor, innovation, and bringing new ideas to political discourse in India. The changed climate of opinion, our awards, partnerships and policy level impact are indicators of our effectiveness. The University of Pennsylvania study released in 2012 named CCS among the top 50 non-US think tanks and among the top 20 in Asia.
The Centre continues to invest in fostering relationships with institutions that value transparency, accountability, innovation, and encourage freedom of enterprise.
For the next 3 years, our principle focus is our School Choice Campaign. CCS is running voucher pilots to introduce alternative public spending methods for improved student performance and is drafting inclusive policy and legislations that encourage market deregulation and entrepreneurship.
The Campaign is also championing an active democratic citizens-space by bringing edupreneurs together on a national platform to demand reforms for inclusive participation and government accountability. We reach out to various stakeholders, seeking to identify challenges and opportunities in the system to bring forward high-level teacher performance and school management.
