Project Bolo English

For the academic year 2022-23, 300 schools including both budget private schools and semi-government schools registered with our program. We started working with learning centres for out-of-school children in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi. The team also completed teacher training for ~4000 teachers who received spoken English application skills.

100 teachers selected from across country honored with Bolo English Excellence Award 2024

New Delhi,March 20, 2024: Under the initiative of think tank Center for Civil Society (CCS) to teach fluent English to students studying in low-fee budget private schools, 100 teachers from across the country who have performed excellently were honored with the 'Bolo English Excellence Award 2024'.

A large number of teachers, educationists and representatives of school organizations from different states were present during the award ceremony organized under the joint aegis of public policy think tank Center for Civil Society (CCS), P&G Education and Rising Tide Foundation at India Habitat Centre.

It may be noted that this campaign to teach fluent English to students from underprivileged sections studying in budget private schools has also been praised at various forums of the United Nations.

Under this campaign, a total of 9,189 teachers from more than 400 schools in 20 states are being trained to speak English to about 3 lakh 50 thousand students. This training is being provided through 'Bolo English App'.

He mentioned the importance of knowledge of English to connect students from deprived sections with future employment. Gurcharan Das also threw light in detail on the revolutionary changes brought about in the field of teaching and training by the use of technology.

Addressing the award ceremony, Amit Chandra, CEO of Center for Civil Society, thanked the operators and teachers of budget schools for the interest shown in the Bolo English project and for making it successful.
