A CCS Colloquium is an in-depth discussion centred on a chosen theme. It provides participants with an opportunity to step away from everyday distractions and reflect on issues of fundamental and enduring importance. The program creates an environment where participants are encouraged to share their understanding of the Readings and contribute meaningfully to discussions. The Colloquium is also an endeavour to develop innovative ideas and approaches for the advancement of liberalism today.
Unlike a conventional conference, where one lectures and the audience listens, a Colloquium invites participants to explore a specific theme together through a common Reader (a curated collection of texts) assigned before the program. Their shared inquiry is guided by a moderator who encourages thinking, asks probing questions, and keeps discussions moving, without indulging in monologues, lecturing, or promoting personal biases. The aim is not to convey doctrine or drive preconceived conclusions, but to challenge participants to examine, refine and develop their own ideas through engagement with others.
Discussions at the Colloquium follow a code of conduct that encourages participants to listen attentively to the thoughts, concerns, and questions of others. This helps deepen their understanding of both the issue and each other.

How Does It Work?
To participate, you must register and pay the participation fee to confirm your seat. The program is open to students, young professionals, policy enthusiasts, and CCS alumni.
A few weeks before the event, CCS shares the Colloquium reader, an organised set of articles, book chapters, op-eds, and blogs that establish a clear flow for understanding the theme. Participants are expected to read and reflect on these texts carefully in advance, as they form the basis for all discussions during the program.
Since participants are responsible for the content of the conversation, the quality of the Colloquium depends entirely on their preparation.
