The one-day conference will include four dedicated online sessions steered by leading domain experts. These include a session on Introduction to Fake News, another on Scope and Limits of Media Regulation, a hands-on Workshop on Fact-Checking and a panel discussion on Disinformation and the Human Rights Perspective to conclude proceedings.

CCS organised the Fake News Conference twice in 2020 with support from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom - South Asia, bringing together media professionals, students and policy experts to dialogue on the state of the media, misinformation and fake news. The conference was once in July 2020 and as well as in November 2020 With a total 54 attendees, the conference included a talk on ‘Media Regulation’ by Nikhil Pahwa, Founder and Editor, MediaNama; a workshop on fact-checking by Nivedita Niranjankumar, Deputy.
