About the Study
Centre for Civil Society, with support from the Templeton World Charity Foundation (TWCF), is conducting a large-scale study on the implementation of Section 12(1)(c) of the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The project involves surveys with parents and students, analysis of lottery-based admission data, and stakeholder consultations to understand the impact of private schooling access on disadvantaged children’s learning and aspirations.
Role Overview
- Support on-ground coordination during field implementation.
- Assist with field planning, monitoring daily progress, troubleshooting logistical issues, ensuring adherence to protocols, and facilitating smooth communication across teams.
- Work closely with the Field Coordinator and Research Manager to ensure timely and high-quality data collection.
Key Responsibilities
Field Coordination
- Act as liaison between the CCS research team and the survey agency
- Coordinate daily field plans and cluster schedules
- Track enumerator deployment and progress
Monitoring & Quality Support
- Support daily monitoring of surveys and assessments
- Flag inconsistencies, delays, or protocol deviations
- Assist in organizing back-checks and follow-ups
Logistics & Planning
- Support travel planning, clustering, and field routing
- Coordinate permissions and household scheduling where required
- Maintain updated tracking sheets and field logs
Communication & Reporting
- Provide daily field updates to research team
- Escalate operational challenges promptly
- Support documentation of field processes
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing final year) in social sciences, education, economics, or related field
- Fluency in Marathi (mandatory)
- Working knowledge of Hindi and/or English preferred
- Prior fieldwork or survey experience preferred
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Comfortable with field travel across Pune
- Availability for weekend work

Compensation
This is an unpaid internship. All project-related expenses will be covered, including:
- Travel (local and outstation if required)
- Accommodation (if required)
- Meals during fieldwork
- Other approved field expenses
