Dr. Parth J. Shah: 
Dr Shah is the Founder and President of Centre for Civil Society and Co-Founder of ISPP. His research and advocacy work centres on the themes of economic freedom (law, liberty and livelihood campaign), choice and competition in education (fund students, not schools), property rights approach for the environment (terracotta vision of stewardship), and good governance (new public management and the duty to publish). He has conceptualised and organised liberal educational programs for the Indian youth, including Liberty & Society Seminars, Jeevika Livelihood Documentary Competition, and the Researching Reality Internship Program. He is also on the editorial board of EducationWorld, Vishleshan, and Khoj. He is an informal advisor to many non-profits and the youngest Indian member of the Mont Pelerin Society.



Dr. Dhiraj Nayyar:

Dr Dhiraj Nayyar is an eminent Indian economist with a career spanning academia, media, government, and industry. He is the chief economist and director of policy at Vedanta Resources. Earlier, Dr Nayyar was Officer on Special Duty and Head, Economics, Finance and Commerce vertical at NITI Aayog, Government of India, effectively serving as Chief Economist of the Government of India’s policy think tank.

Educated at St. Stephen’s College Delhi, Merton College, Oxford and Trinity College, Cambridge, he has held several senior positions in the media, including Opinion Editor of Financial Express, Deputy Editor of India Today, Editor-at-large, Firstpost.com and India Columnist, Bloomberg View. In 2013, the California-based Reason Foundation awarded him a Bastiat Prize in journalism. Dr Nayyar is also the recipient of the Radhakrishnan/Chevening Scholarship, Gates Cambridge Scholarship and Trinity College Internal Graduate Studentship. A prolific writer, Dr Nayyar’s columns have appeared in publications in India and abroad, including Economic Times, Business Standard, Financial Express, Indian Express, The Hindu, Sunday Guardian, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Prospect, Straits Times, and others.

Dr Nayyar’s notable publications include Modi & Markets: Arguments for Transformation, The Innovation Republic and the best-selling Surviving the Storm: India and the Global Financial Crisis. He was also the editor of the critically acclaimed anthology of dog stories titled How Cheeka Became a Star and Other Dog Stories, now retitled Dogs and Us: Collected Dog Stories.
