Centre for Civil Society unveiled the 2023 edition of the Researching Reality Compendium, titled "Beyond Legalese: Aam Aadmi in Conversation with the Constitution," on 14 October 2023, at the Indian School of Public Policy. The event was graced by Hon’ble Justice J. Chelameswar, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, as a keynote speaker and featured a lineup of distinguished speakers and experts in the realm of law and policy. This year's RR Compendium is a pioneering exploration into the Constitution of India, offering a unique perspective from the lens of an ‘Aam Aadmi’. Breaking down intricate legal jargons, the compendium strives to decode the Constitution, rendering it more accessible and comprehensible to a broader audience.

Story-1

Gender Sensitization Session for School Students

Centre for Civil Society and Pratisandhi Foundation conducted a "Gender Sensitization" workshop at Hari Vidya Bhawan School in Sangam Vihar, Delhi, on October 30, 2023. Supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation South Asia, this initiative by CCS aims to provide Comprehensive Sexuality Education to students and teachers in budget private schools across India, fostering inclusivity. The workshop, the first of a three-session program for eighth-grade students, featured thought-provoking activities and covered sex and gender differences, gender roles, sensitization, and the distinction between gender equality and equity.

Blue Curriculum for a Sustainable Future

Centre for Civil Society published a study, ‘Unlocking The Blue Potential’, which aims to chart a course through the vast ocean of possibilities within the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) countries. Supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation South Asia, this study serves as our initial foray into this uncharted territory, striving to unravel the intricacies of Ocean Literacy in the region.

iPolicy for Young Leaders in Mumbai

Our team, on 17 & 18 November 2023, organised an introductory public policy workshop at Artha Global in Mumbai. The two days were filled with enriching and interactive sessions by Bhargavi Zaveri-Shah, Jerry Johnson, Rajeswari Sengupta, Mohammad Anas Khan, and Sourya Banerjee. Participants from Goa, Hyderabad, and Chennai also joined the 2-day workshop.

Minoo Masani Fellowship

We successfully completed the Minoo Masani Fellowship of three months, through which the Fellows researched and contributed articles on Marathi and Telugu liberal thinkers like Karve, Yashodabai Agarkar, Gokhale, Tilak, Gurajada Apparao, Acharya N G Ranga, Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu and Veeresalingam.
