Last year at CCS Academy, we curated a platform for CCS alumni, young students and professionals to engage in themes and discussions around public policy; now popularly called Baithak: Conversations in Policy.
Why does corruption persist?
Why do cities flood every monsoon?
Does India have too many laws or too few?
Why is India still poor and how can it become rich?
A CCS Colloquium is an in-depth discussion centred on a chosen theme. The Colloquium provides participants with an opportunity to disentangle themselves from the distractions of everyday life to reflect on issues of fundamental and enduring importance. Through this program, we create an environment where participants are encouraged to contribute to the discussions by sharing their understanding of the book ‘The Dilemma of an Indian Liberal’.
On occasion of the Centre for Civil Society’s 27th Foundation Day, we were joined by Mr Gurcharan Das and Mr Sanjeev Sanyal for a Baithak where they discussed the state of the Indian economy and the importance of process reforms for economic growth.
