About Centre for Civil Society (CCS):
Centre for Civil Society (CCS) is an independent public policy think tank based in New Delhi, focusing on education, livelihood, and policy training to promote choice and accountability across private and public sectors. CCS engages with policy and opinion leaders through research, pilot projects, and advocacy to translate policy into practice.
Position Overview:
The Centre for Civil Society is accepting interns for its ‘Choosing dignity: Unlocking Education for All’ project. The report focuses on mapping the regulations governing private schools in each Indian state. Our work checks against the burdensome, obsolete and inconsistent laws that thwart the easy opening, operating, and closing of private schools across states in India. We intend to do this exercise annually to inform policymakers and parents of private schools' challenges and progress. In light of these goals, the intern will be responsible for supporting the operations, partnerships, research and digital communications arising from and/or for the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and interpret laws, rules and regulations related to the school education landscape in India.
- Drafting policy briefs, research articles, blogs, concept notes and case summaries as and when required.
- Engaging in various data management activities, including collation, organization and analysis of relevant information
- Handling of any additional tasks assigned by the CCS team within the scope of various projects.

Qualifications:
- The applicant must be a law student or graduate (Essential)
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking the following languages: English, Hindi (Essential)
- Ability to critically understand and interpret laws, rules and regulations (Essential)
- Ability to generate communication collaterals including but not limited to policy reports, research articles, and blogs (Essential)
- Keen interest in applying theoretical knowledge to complex on-ground realities (Essential)
- An availability to engage for approximately 30 working hours/week (Essential).
