Centre for Civil Society (CCS) was started with a passion on 15 August 1997 to advance social change through public policy. Our work in education, livelihood, governance and policy training promotes choice and accountability across private and public sectors. To translate policy into practice, we engage with policy and opinion leaders through research, pilot projects and outreach. For the last couple of years, CCS has built a strong portfolio of research and outreach in education, governance and livelihood.

We are looking for a Junior Associate, Video Editor to support our communications and outreach work through high-quality video content. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys storytelling, understands social media formats, and wants to work on purpose driven projects in education, livelihoods, and public policy.

You will work closely with the communications and program teams to edit videos that amplify real stories, voices, and impact.

About the Role

The Junior Associate - Video Editor is an entry-level position within the Digital Outreach Department. The primary role of a Video Editor is to manage & create digital properties and print designs to enable targeted outreach of CCS policy perspectives through all online platforms. The ideal candidate should have proven expertise in managing new media for organisations, great interest in policy ideas, have an eye for good design and possess excellent communication skills. Knowledge about classical liberalism would be deemed an advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop video concepts, storylines, and content plans in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Create storyboards or video outlines and secure approvals before production and editing.
  • Edit short- and long-form videos for social media, websites, events, campaigns, and digital platforms.
  • Enhance video and audio quality; integrate music, interviews, graphics, effects, subtitles, and captions.
  • Produce reels, shorts, teasers, and highlight videos optimised for Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
  • Support editing of interviews, webinars, workshops, field footage, and documentary-style content.
  • Ensure videos meet platform-specific technical, branding, and accessibility standards.
  • Manage and organise raw footage, assets, and archives; maintain an efficient and well-documented editing workflow.
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, and programme teams to meet timelines and creative objectives.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and make revisions efficiently.
  • Adhere to organisational brand guidelines, tone, and visual identity.
  • Assist with basic motion graphics, transitions, and visual consistency across content.
  • Maintain version control and ensure timely delivery of final assets.
  • Stay updated on video trends, formats, and best practices to improve content quality and reach.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in video editing or related work
  • Possession of a degree or qualification in Video Editing or Graphic Design, with a preference for graduates in Arts or related fields.
  • Creative background in filmmaking and videography.
  • Capable of multitasking and effectively managing multiple project milestones concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent editing software
  • Basic understanding of framing, pacing, and storytelling
  • Familiarity with social media video formats and trends
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn through feedback
  • Strong communication skills essential for a clear understanding of project scope and successful implementation.

Good to Have

  • Experience with After Effects or basic motion graphics
  • Interest in education, livelihoods, or social impact work
  • Ability to handle multiple edits and quick turnarounds
  • Basic knowledge of handling DSLR and lighting techniques

Location:

The position will be based in the CCS headquarters in Delhi. Frequent travel around India with potential for international travel to partners and conferences will be expected.
