Researching Reality Training Program

Background:
Researching Reality (RR) is an esteemed research training program offered by the Centre for Civil Society (CCS) in New Delhi. As a leading public policy think tank ranked 5th in India and 83rd globally by the University of Pennsylvania's Think Tank and Civil Societies Program, CCS brings together scholars to delve into the complexities of economics, law, and primary research. This five-month program features a unique blend of part-time remote engagement, intensive in-person field research and writing, and the opportunity to contribute to a published compendium. The objective of the training program is to engage students and young professionals in an understanding of the fundamentals of public policy and politics via training in the skills of research, analysis, writing, and above all critical thinking. Scholars are familiarised with issues and gaps in policy design and implementation through close interactions with bureaucrats and other important stakeholders.
Role of the Internship Coordinator:
To plan and implement the Researching Reality Training Program end-to-end including but not limited to ensuring coordination between scholars, research guides and research director, closing the deliverables within timeline and overall monitoring and evaluation of the project.

Consultancy Fee:

Terms of Engagement:
The consultant will be hired for a period of 8 months from May 2023 - December 2023 during which the above-mentioned activities are expected to be completed. The contract may be subject to renewal on need-basis.

No applications will be accepted after 15 March 2023. A telephonic/in-person interview may be conducted following the shortlisting of your application.
- Bachelor’s degree (or above) in any of the Liberal Arts, Media, Public Policy, Social Sciences or Law Courses with a strong educational background from a leading university. Masters or graduate degree preferable
- To create training program structure and timeline, in consultation with research guides
- To put out a call for applications, review applications received and shortlist for interviews. Based on the criteria and evaluation, onboard the scholars best suited for the program.
- To plan and implement an orientation program for the scholars to ensure a comprehensive understanding of liberal ideas as well as basic concepts and principles of public policy
- To design a training program curriculum for scholars as per requirements of research guides
- To ensure completion of tasks as per deadlines set, ensure all timelines are met by scholars, research guides and internship director
- To ensure coordination between departments for the smooth execution of training program
- To manage the budget for the program, ensure all audit requirements are fulfilled on time
