About the Role:  

The Centre for Civil Society is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to lead the National Independent Schools Alliance, NISA’s 100 Model Schools Initiative. This transformative initiative aims to identify, onboard, and enhance 100 Budget Private Schools (BPS) across North Indian states such as Delhi/NCR, Haryana, and nearby regions over the next three years. The role involves designing and implementing a blueprint to improve the overall quality of education and learning outcomes in these schools.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Blueprint Development: 

  • Design the strategic framework and implementation plan for NISA’s 100 Model Schools Initiative.  
  • Establish clear goals, milestones, and success metrics to ensure the program achieves its desired outcomes.  

2. Selection and Onboarding:  

  • Define comprehensive selection criteria and processes for identifying Budget Private Schools eligible for the initiative.  
  • Oversee the selection and onboarding process to ensure transparency, efficiency, and alignment with the initiative’s objectives. 

3. Team Building and Leadership:  

  • Recruit, train, and lead a dedicated team to support the execution of the initiative.  
  • Define team roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics to ensure effective program delivery.  
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing work environment.  

4. Service Quality & Partnerships: 

  • Define service quality standards and draft contracts for service providers and NGO-led programs supporting the initiative.  
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including NGOs, service providers, school leaders, and policymakers, to ensure holistic improvement in school quality.  

5. Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration:  

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including school associations, funding agencies, and civil society organizations.  
  • Facilitate dialogue and consensus-building among stakeholders to ensure program alignment and impact.  
  • Act as the central liaison for stakeholders to address concerns, provide updates, and secure support for the initiative.  

6. School Assessment & Development Plans:  

  • Establish a robust assessment framework to evaluate participating schools.  
  • Develop tailored school improvement plans addressing gaps and opportunities for growth in each institution.  

7. Program Coordination: 

  • Act as the central liaison with the Model Schools Oversight Board, NISA Leadership, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and progress tracking.  
  • Coordinate across teams and external partners for effective program delivery and reporting.  

8. Communication and IEC Development:  

  • Design and develop high-quality Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to promote the program’s vision and activities.  
  • Ensure consistent and impactful communication with schools, service providers, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage internal and external communications, including reports, newsletters, and social media content.  

9. Mentorship & Collaboration:  

  • Work closely under the mentorship of the Senior Fellow of the Centre for Civil Society.  
  • Provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership for informed decision-making.  

10. Other Responsibilities:  

  • Lead initiatives or tasks related to the program as identified during the course of implementation.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Education, Public Policy, Management, Social Work, or related fields.  
  • Experience:  
    • Relevant and promising experience of at least 5 years in program design and implementation in the education or social impact sector, preferably working with Budget Private Schools.  
    • Proven experience in multi-stakeholder collaboration and partnership management. 
    • Experience in team building, training, and management.
