
Swikruti Mohanty is a NextGen Fellow at the Centre for Civil Society, where she is engaged in the Livelihood and Governance vertical of the Policy Research and Outreach Team. Her work focuses on mapping and reforming overcriminalised business laws through rigorous legal research, stakeholder engagement, and policy analysis aimed at enabling evidence-based regulatory reform.
Swikruti graduated from National Law University Odisha in 2024 with a B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree. Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep engagement with corporate law, judicial reform, and institutional governance. She has previously contributed to research on the role of parliamentary committees and legislative design in the real estate sector during her internships with other think tanks.
She has also interned with leading law firms where she worked on issues of competition law, merger remedies, and regulatory overlaps. Her research contributions extend to antitrust policy, telecommunications regulation, and institutional design. Swikruti’s writing spans diverse areas—from digital payments to internet shutdowns and anti-arbitration injunctions. Her interests lie in translating complex regulatory challenges into actionable legal and policy frameworks that balance economic efficiency with procedural fairness.
