Ease of operations for budget private schools in India

This report delves into the relationship between public and budget private schools, based on a comprehensive background study we submitted for UNESCO's Global Education Monitoring Report 2022. The focus is on critical aspects such as teacher recruitment, licensing, inspections, admissions, and grievance procedures. By analyzing relevant laws and supplementing our research with surveys and interviews with school owners, we aim to bridge the existing gap in the literature on budget private schools.

When we refer to the ‘Blue Curriculum,’ we do not confine the term to the conventional notion of a set of academic courses. Instead, we conceive it as an educational strategy that goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. It includes transformative education, lifelong learnings, sustainability dialogues, values, ethical awareness, and a deep-rooted sense of responsibility. Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) Betiyan Fellowship, a unique scholarship program was launched in 2021-22 in collaboration with Centre for Civil Society to encourage female students to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
