Ease of operations for budget private schools in India

This report delves into the relationship between public and budget private schools, based on a comprehensive background study we submitted for UNESCO's Global Education Monitoring Report 2022. The focus is on critical aspects such as teacher recruitment, licensing, inspections, admissions, and grievance procedures. By analyzing relevant laws and supplementing our research with surveys and interviews with school owners, we aim to bridge the existing gap in the literature on budget private schools.

Blue Curriculum for Life

When we refer to the ‘Blue Curriculum,’ we do not confine the term to the conventional notion of a set of academic courses. Instead, we conceive it as an educational strategy that goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. It includes transformative education, lifelong learnings, sustainability dialogues, values, ethical awareness, and a deep-rooted sense of responsibility. The word Blue signifies both our planet Earth and Water – a universal symbol of fluidity, adaptability and interconnectedness.

Indian Liberals have often been lost in mainstream communication for precisely voicing their “liberal” ideas. So while there are written documents lost in time, this is a humble effort to revive the ideas and voices of some of the unknown Indian Liberals of their time.

Possibilities for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Reforms in India

Advancements in Science and Technology (S&T) play a critical role in transitioning into a knowledge-driven economy. Therefore, countries worldwide are continuously (re)shaping their public policies to better leverage the benefits of scientific knowledge towards achieving socio-economic development priorities. Notably, due to rapidly evolving knowledge frontiers, emerging technologies, and technology-led innovations, it becomes critical to develop dynamic policy interventions.

An Analysis of Research Productivity Metrics and Usage Guidelines

Research productivity refers to the efficacy of research processes with respect to the quantity and quality of its contributions. In the process of building our three-part series on ‘assessing scientific research and innovation’, we learned that research productivity assessments are a tool used for many processes in the STI (Science, Technology, and Innovation) ecosystem. These processes include research funding allocation, and evaluating the efficacy of scientific R&I (Research & Innovation) in academic institutions.
