The Language Learning Lab (LLL) under the Bolo English Project by the Centre for Civil Society (CCS) is a tech-enabled, school-integrated initiative aimed at improving spoken English proficiency in Budget Private Schools (BPS). Launched as a pilot in April 2024 after three years (2020–2023) of mobile-based self-learning, the project addresses the lack of trained teachers and learning tools in underserved communities. It integrates app-based learning, teacher training, and community engagement to embed English as a lived skill. The project currently operates across 9 schools in Delhi and Chandigarh, impacting 7,000+ students from Grades 1 to 8. Based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), it enhances fluency, pronunciation, listening, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and confidence. A recent event, the Speaking Bee competition, saw over 100 students from 8 schools demonstrate their language progress through interactive, performance-based activities, highlighting the program’s impact in resource-constrained settings
