CCS has collaborated with Civil20 Gender Equality (GE) Working Group over the last few months. Lakshmi Sampath Goyal, CEO of Centre for Civil Society, recently attended the G20 joint Working Group meeting on ‘Women-led Development’ in Goa, bringing together four engagement groups- Think20, G20 Empower, Women20 and Civil20.

We also collaborated with Civil20 GE and Education & Digital Transformation Working Groups and the Azim Premji Foundation to host a policy dialogue on ‘Inclusive Education and Skill Development: Opportunities and Challenges in the Digital World ’ in Bangalore.




Power to the People: Strengthening Public Service Guarantee Laws in India

CCS and Centre for Transparency and Accountability in Governance, Delhi, hosted a three-session panel discussion on “Power to the People: Strengthening Public Service Guarantee Laws in India”.  We released the Model State Public Services Delivery Act, 2023 (Version 2.0) on public services guarantee and delivery laws with  recommendations for the Indian states.

Vaad Vivad on Decentralisation and Panchayati Raj System

Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the National Panchayati Raj Day, and supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation South Asia, we hosted our 1st edition of Vaad Vivad, an in-depth Socratic discussion on the Panchayati Raj institutions and how the governance model has aided its grass-root stakeholders, if at all.

School Education 


A Report Card for Delhi: Understanding the Education Landscape

CCS conducted a consultation on the state of K-12 education in Delhi with school owners, teachers, and researchers to discuss the loopholes in the regulatory framework and challenges.
The discussion ranged from themes like teacher qualifications and motivation to school financing.

Sanrachna (संरचना): Becoming Women in STEM

CCS and Procter & Gamble (P&G) India, under their CSR initiative Shiksha, recently commissioned the short film ‘Sanrachna (संरचना)’ by budding filmmaker Asambhava Shubha. Through a series of thought experiments and interviews, the film focuses on scientific temperament and gender biases related to STEM, as observed in the Indian education system.

We conducted an orientation for the Researching Reality Trainees. We are excited to embark on this journey of deepening understanding and critical thinking on public policy issues. So far, we've explored topics ranging from research methods to public choice theory to ensure scholars develop valuable public policy insights!

Pandita Ramabai (1858-1922) was an Indian social reformer, women’s rights activist, scholar, and educator. She is best known for pioneering work in promoting women’s education and empowerment in India, publishing books on a wide range of topics, including the status of women in India, the Bible, and Sanskrit literature.
