Supported by the P&G Shiksha initiative, 'Women in STEM Caravan' was kick started with a powerful round table conference in New Delhi on 11th February and is going around several locations in India with the view to bring key stakeholders together to advance Women’s participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). We are delighted to collaborate on this Caravan with the Civil 20 Working Group on Gender Equality and Disability under India’s G20 Presidency.

Jeevika Mobile App Launch

Centre for Civil Society in the presence of Shri Sanjay Singh, Hon'ble Member of Parliament launched the first-of-its-kind Mobile Application for Street Vendors-Jeevika on 21st January in New Delhi. 

The mobile application is a part of our larger initiative to remove barriers to livelihood and doing business for nano entreprenuers in urban poor and marginal communities.

Team Bolo English participated in the Manthan School Education Conclave 2023 on 19th February at Panchkula. This annual gathering of budget private schools was organized by The National Independent Schools Association (NISA) and attended by over 300 school leaders from various states.

We hosted a symposium in collaboration with NLSIU, Bengaluru on ‘Street Vendors and the Law: Practices, Hierarchies, and Economic Citizenship’. The event was a three panel discussion to explore the various facets of street vending and its law in India.

The Missed Opportunity

In February, we featured liberal writings and speeches on the Union Budget of India spanning seven decades of Independence.

Published by Swatantra Party, “The Missed Opportunity” comprises speeches by its MPs, who expressed their discontent towards the Central Budget of 1967-68. This musing is the speech delivered by Mr Charanjit Rai, MP from the constituency of Dausa, Rajasthan, on June 8, 1967, in the Lok Sabha during a discussion on the General Budget.
